HOLIDAY
Green hills,
olive trees, rolling pastures, the occassional ding-a-ling of
goat bells. Agriturismo, farm holiday Valle di Mezzo sits in a
tiny wooded valley just 3.5 miles from the castle village of
Anghiari. Perfect for single travelers, couples or groups of
4, our house will let you feel like you are at home away from
home. Exposed stone, open beams, high ceilings and tlled
floors keep this farmhouse traditional yet chic. Two bedrooms,
two bathrooms offer space and privacey to all. One of the
bedrooms opens up to the dining patio, the other bedroom on
the second floor has a ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom and views
over the valley.
Apart from the
sleeping areas, the house also has a living room with
woodstove, tv, seating for 6 and a dining table. There is an
open kitchen with double sink, full sized fridge and freezer,
oven and 4 burner stove with enough pots, pans, forks and
spoons to cook up a feast. You are also welcome to have a
wander through our large organic garden, picking what you like
for lunch. We also have a chicken flock for a fresh egg or two
and of course all the milk and cheese you want to
buy.
Visitors are
welcome to help with feeding the animals, milking goats,
grooming horses, feeding chickens, collecting eggs, gardening,
baling hay, collecting olives or herding the goats for their
daily trek thru the hills and woods. Great hiking starts at
our front door, quiet country trails with no traffic and
wonderful mountain top views.
Meals are not
served at Valle di Mezzo but Brent can usually be found in the
garden or in the goat barn and rumor has it that he has never
turned down a cup of coffee or an invite to share a bottle of
wine. We can offer restaurant advice , travel advice and sight
seeing suggestions, best farmers markets (where we sell
cheese!) and where the local fiesta is going on for the
week.
Within
20-30 minute drives are castle monastaries, antique markets,
farmers markets, hilltowns, churches and famous works of
art.
