January
- Cold days, freezing nights, the first babies are born around
mid month and they just keep coming!
February
- All month, birthin’ babies, more babies, and lots more
babies. Barn is quickly filling up. Lots of goat
love.
March
- Last of the babies are born, the older babies are now
figuring out how to escape and drive us all
bananas.
April
- We sell the kids we’re not planning on raising to join
our milk herd and start twice a day milking. Cheese making
starts. Tulips should be blooming and Tuscany is green
green green.
May
- Milking, cheesing, milking, cheesing. Garden gets
planted.
June
- Cheesing, milking, bitching, cheesing, milking,
bitching…..
July
- STILL cheesing, milking, making hay.
August
- Cheesing, haying garden harvesting, tomato
saucing.
September
- Milk and cheese, Boy meets girls. Breeding season for the
goats to start the cycle all over again
October
- Cheese, chestnuts and grape harvest
November
- End of milking FINALLY! Opening of wine,
garlic planting, garden tilling, barn cleaning, beginning of
olive season.
December
- Lots of wine sipping, sitting by the fire, dreaming
of next years farming, watching mama goats get
fatter.
